In this course, students will be able to have a broad overview of Darknet as the dark underbelly of the Internet and the various connected legal policy and regulatory issues emanating therefrom. Today typically whenever people talk of the Internet, they often refer to the superficial matter the Deep Net. Very few people are talking about the Darknet. The darknet is a place which which provides anonymity to persons not just to express their opinions, but also to do a lot of activities anonymously. This course would enable the students to understand the various legal challenges and issues that Darknet is beginning to throw up, and why there is a need for coming up with appropriate legal mechanisms to deal with Darknet.
There are no course requirements or prerequisites. Any person or student who wishes to learn more about the Darknet and connected legalities could enroll for the said course.
In this course, students will get a broad overview about Darknet being in that portion of the Internet wherein cybercrime is a default economic activity and wherein all kinds of criminal activities and acts are being done. In this course, students will also get to learn about the various practical legal policy and regulatory issues and challenges that the advent of Darknet is beginning to throw up. In this course, students will also learn how the legal jurisprudence pertaining to Darknet is at a very early stage of its development, and how there is a need for coming up with appropriate innovative legal strategies and approaches so as to deal with the emerging legal challenges thrown up by the Darknet.
- The target students are any persons who are interested in understanding the Darknet, and the connected legal policy and regulatory aspects connected therewith. These could be law students, legal professionals, lawyers, advocates, general students, as also any other professionals working in or interested in the Darknet, and are further keen to know about the various legal challenges that Darknet as a paradigm is beginning to throw up.
